FRIDAY 15 JUNE - Cuas to Cloghane, 10.5 miles/17 kms, ascent + 750m

The start of the most challenging section of the Dingle Way, over the saddle of Brandon between Mas an Tiompain and Piaras Mor and down to Cloghane.
Looking back as the gradient increases and the rain gets heavier.
After hailstones on the col, the initial descent was steep and tricky. Well done all!
The weather cleared and we had stunning views of Brandon Bay as we made our way down.
The descent was wet underfoot but we have faced much worse in the Mournes - no bog, just wet!
Peter takes stock of our progress before we head into Ce Bhreanainn for well earned refreshments
Having made good progress over Brandon, we decided to keep on the trail and visit the pub at Brandon village rather than take the shortcut. A good decision!
Murphy's Bar is the perfect setting to enjoy refreshments and enjoy the view. We were treated to the spectacle of two gannets diving for fish in the harbour.

SATURDAY 16 JUNE - Cloghane to Camp, 14.3 miles/23 kms, +150m

Saturday's walk started with a gentle road walk, sea on one side and mountains on the other.
The beginning of an extensive beach section which saw the group cross the peninsula and manage to stay ahead of the rain.
Another river to cross and a chance for another group shot.
The final beach section from Castlegregory to Camp involved some river crossing, both by bridge and foot.
The Searcher, a chance to catch our breath and for the ramblers to regroup before the final section to Camp.
Empty seats at the Junction Bar offer a welcome end point for food and beverages.
Well done to all, a fine walk through a wonderful part of the world.
